ive had a damn tasty week

I've had a pretty damn tasty week
it started last sunday night rocking with aileen and getting our rave on to the klaxons, those vokdas were an awesome idea!

tuesday night, i worked at VS and saw the truly amazing damien dempsy, wondeful..

thursday i had a date with a very cute boy, and we had a great night

friday nici and i hungover as fook did a spot of shopping and ate like queens

satuday morning, i stumbled out to dublin airport at 4.30am met Jay and the diviliment started from there...a sneaky pint at 06.30am, a spot of shopping in bristol, before we got to the hostel where we took over the bar, where cans of XXXX were only 1.20 (GBP) and shots were only 1.00..we played some cards and kinda forgot to check in, we had an awesome room, although those church bells nearly drove us demented..

we stumbled to a whetherspoons, had some grub and another pint and then stumbled over to the walkabout where we hungout with our new s african friends, watched the rugby and consumed more pints....

we then persuaded our new s african friend keith to quit his job and come see the queens of the stone age, had some more pints in the hostel, we actually cleared them out of XXXX and then made our way to the hackett pub to meet fellow QOTSA fans, who were fucking awesome peeps! pints and shots and shots, did i mention shots were consumed and we stumbled to the venue across the road...where we lost jay, so keith and i rocked out, some CUNT stole my brand new leather jacket, im soo pissed and upset...hope they get a bad case of karma shits!

stumbled and found jay and then we MET THE BAND...wooo cept josh, my poor baby was sick, but we met the others and they were fucking sound, photos to follow

next jay and i stumbled to what was once a rock bar and drank way to many double vodkas and redbull, we then got lost going to the hostel i think he dragged me up the stairs by my heels

next morning still half cut, running around the hostel with no shoes on, met some more qotsa fans, had some breakfast, said goodbye to keith and then went to the airport, i nearly drove jay demented!

back to dublin, some chinese food and then dan arrived with two bags of beer, drank and went to a pub beside the RDS met the wondeful aileen and jonathan and then went to rock out to interpol who were FUCKING AMAZING!

so much dancing and sweat, came back here, dan made it eventually after taking a detour, ate chinese food and watched family guy...no hangover today!

tonight its newton faulker, thursday tommy tiernan, friday work xmas party and sunday artic monkeys...if i survive the rest of the week, i'll tell ye how it went

love to all

Vicar Street

Well for those of you that read, if anyone at all reads, hey who cares, as I was saying, im doing work experience at Vicar Street for the past few weeks and I LOVE it

Some people might think I'm nuts spending my free time in there and not getting paid, lugging bands equipments, setting up and taking down after a show, and basically making tea and running around doing odds and ends, but hey, its the music world, you've got to start at the bottom and work your way to the top.

The guys at Vicar Street, from Ed- sound guy- ciaran, mick, chief, conor, and even grumpey phil are class to work with and really welcoming....im really enjoying my time there...

so here's to bigger and better things....

here's some of the bands/comedians i've seen since i started

Fionn Regan
Maeve Higgins
Harlem Gospel Choir and the Dublin Gospel Choir
Wilco
Dara O' Brien

thats it for now my friends, hopefully lots more adventures to come from Vicar Street

bank holiday weekend is about to start..and some woo news for me!

so first off...its friday, its the 26th of october which means..its a bank holiday, which means...im only going to be sober 1 day out of 4...oh the hardship of it all.....its 12.08, im waiting for lunch so i can pop out and buy a childs tea set and a white rabbit...any clue what im on about?

the fabalous discarded retarded are playing the BOOM BOOM room tonight, an exciting venture as always, and to spice things up, tis a fancy dress....and yours truly is going down the rabbit hole as Alice from the Wonderland...."im late im late for a very important date, no need to say hello goodbye im late im late im late....the wonderul nici spent HRS, sewing and pinning and cutting fabric to make my wonderful apron to put over her little blue dress..now all i need is some white socks, a white rabbit and a tea set..shouldn't be too hard..right?

on top of all that, which is tonight, i have drinks after work, then tomorrow, i've got to pull my sorry ass outta bed and catch the bus home to athlone for marks fancy dress halloween party, and then an all day drinking session on sunday followed no doubt by a hangover monday..good times

and to make me want to be back in dublin next week, im starting work experience at the very famous Vicar Street in Dublin, shadowing the manager of the venue...im bursting with excitment.

one small step for caroline, one giant leap for my future career!!

pants to men

you know what...when you say you are going to call someone, or text someone...you should do it and not leave that other person waiting around, its just rude and hurtful

rant over...its a simple curtesy....i dont think i spelt that right but you get the idea

The foos last week..well from what I remember were class as always..some bands ive seen soo many times then when i see them again all the gigs can sometimes blend into one, having said that, i had a bit to drink pre the show....and thinking two lollipops and a naggin of vokda was a good dinner didnt help..regardless..it was a great night all round ;)

The weekend started on a bad note, pending a migraine that wouldnt get the fucking hint and i spent all of friday under my bed sheets blocking out any shade of light that can in to view...i spent the day wandering around dalkey, a little seaside town in dublin in search of sand..all i found was seagulls and rocks..spent the rest of the evening arguing with dan about whether the new interpol album sounds like the slighty older new killers album...i still disagree

the athlonian gang came up in force then on wednesday, where as usual we got plastered and did some mighty fine rocking to the EAGLES OF DEATH METAL...more fun than you can shake a fist at.....if you havent seen them live...you have no soul

this weekend will no doubt be another rok n roll adventure, with blinks and scotty coming over for literally 24hrs from london to sample some mighty fine irish culture...which of course means a mammoth pub crawl

let the good times roll

a sad panda bear

Writing to ones blog, on a Saturday night stoned with candles listening to Not myself for John Mayer...the irony is almost heartbreaking.

I've spent the day cooking cleaning and watching movies....i've watched little woman, the devil wears prada and countless episodes of friends....and its only 9.30...did i mention its saturday...i'd like to say more than I can in this blog, but Im afraid of hurting the feelings of some people that might read it...so I'll say nothing

im on a complete downer this weekend, i couldnt go home for personal reasons this weekend and all I need is some company and to be kept in high spirits, cept that I've been let down by many people...I dont know whether to laugh or cry at the situation.

I have two choices, stay at home, continue to smoke my brain cells away and drink wine alone in bed, or go out, spend what little money I have and get pissed and forget about it all..

At 9.34pm it might be a bit late to play catch up but Im willing to give it a try...i cant stand staying in anymore...thats it im out the door

Brian and Alvins Dublin Adventure

Meeting with Brian and Baxter Friday two weeks ago, I thought it would take me ages to play catch up considering they'd been drinking all day while I was hungover at work....but the combination of having thursday nights booze still flowing through me and the fact that when i finally met them at 7pm on the friday and they were stoned as unicorns, meant i had a fighting chance and lord did i make the most of it

we started off with an elegant meal of pizza on o connell street, it being the closet place to fibbers where they spent the day in bat like conditions...after parading down o connell street and asking every tom, dick and harry to take our photo with the spike! we finally had the chow and started on a pub crawl...

we met with conor, and said goodbye to nici and ronan and made our way to my new favourite pub Sine, where Brian and I had some very grown up conversations about the opposite sex, and porn, the porn conversation was my favourite....from there we stumbled into temple bar, where we met my friend dave and perceded to trapse through the square on route to the hub or mezz or whatever the fuck its called...and after that it gets a bit messy

I decided shots of tequila were a good starting point, followed by vodka, whiskey, gin, beer and endless cocktail of booze...the music was questionable and my state of mind also...

alvin, being alvin and trying to be the good smaratian got kicked out of the mens jacks because he..... and ....... and ........ and .......and then got kicked out of the club...nothing new there...the good mixer anyone?!

fill in your own answers here kids!

we lost him then for the rest of the night, because he had no credit, no battery and brian and I were too drunk to remember where the hell they were staying!

the next morning i woke up looking and feeling like a badgers arse...brian, and alvin looked and smelt the same

we made our way to st stephens green and had a 4min snooze, chased away the pigeons and played some frisbee, followed by a hot chocolate in st georges st arcade and for the boys a lie down...i went home and stared at the walls for a while and watched some porn...as one does

anyway...next stop was a mexican restaurant for some great food, we kicked alvin of the fun train as we were sick of the sight and smell of him (he had to meet family) and brian and i went to a few bars to hang with his flatmates brother

after spending the guts of €50 on vokda, i went home cold and wet and sober having eaten too much at dinner..waste of money..brian stumbled back around 3am..i was out cold

sunday we decided to go to a local around the corner from me and started drinking at 2pm by 6pm we decided fibbers, pool and trying to find some weed was a good idea, i even managed to beat the number 1 pool shark at a game, it helps being drunk...luck in hand, we left for a party and from there we ended up in pal joeys...the music was shite and i sobered up again....we got home at 5am and had a smoke, watched some family guy and we all passed out...oh how i love bank holidays

so ok ive wasted 20mins at work, trying to remember all this, its lunch time!

for once in my life...it's been boring and drama free

last weekend I made what was once a bi monthly trip home to the old folks home, aka my parents house....ended up watching ireland play a dreadful rugby game where we were beaten by the scottish?! WTF?! so to compensate for our dire game, i drank all day and was home, pissed and hungry by 7pm

however i got a second lease of life around 9pm and went out with my bro keith and his finance and her sisters, and it was the cheapest and a very drunk night, shots, vodka and red bull and an over 35's disco playing 80's music where you are the youngest person in the room = a very good night

the perfect way to spend a sunday after getting just 3hrs sleep? go to the cinema and watch the new simpsons movie, while slurping on some coke and eating your bodyweight in popcorn, followed by a driving lesson

this week in dublin has been very quiet for me...i managed to not drink since sunday up until last night where i merely had 1 pint much to the confusion of mary, leah and myself!

The weekend i have zero plans, although i've been offered tickets to see the rolling stones, by lack the funds, thanks to the two tickets i have in my possession to see ireland play argentina in the world cup..

i'll check back monday and let you know how the weekend pans out

wake me up before you go go...

hmmmm I just realised ive only eaten about a days worth of food if even that and a life times worth of booze in three days...and i am soo tired...8hrs in two days sleep = not enough

The KoC festival went really well, until it started raining. Poor Tash was stressing and running around like a headless chicken, fortunately I was there to keep her calm, well as well as can be...it only rained for the last hour and all the crew and helpers were fantastic so over all a great succes..

we started then at the pub around 7pm saturday, stumbled in the door at around 3.30ish but that doesnt mean I went to sleep ;)

Sunday was quite a fun and unusual day...I was at my very first Hurling match and at Crowe Park for the first time..what a fantastic stadium, I would rip both my arms off for tickets to see ireland play a rugby game there....what an atmosphere....and great company too..it was a day spent in the sun with great new friends, beer and alot of walking

Don't think Mc Dees was a good idea, jesus I havent had that since I left London! Now I remember why...but a few more pints later adn I was a happy camper...only problem today is keep my eyelids open...its a struggle i tell's ya, im off to zzz as soon as I get home!

woof woof bark bark, looks whose coming to ireland!

Carolines blog, stardate 27th July 2007....

I've finally figured out what the Guiness Factory smells like for sure...its a mixture of burnt black bean sauce and cooked cabbage and bacon combined....and jesus it stinks...not for a hungover head..luckily im not hungover today but god knows i could have been

Went to a work night out at the dog races last night, VIP Corporate box, free bar and free food, fuck the food yes free bar! So I won 4 or 5 races but lost it again however i came home only minus a €5 and was tipsy, but not drunk i know i know..a free bar, ya'd think id have been drunk

well i was sleepy and theres nothing worse than being sleepy, so i moved from pints to vodka and red bull at one point the tab was at €480 so i said i wasnt leaving until it was at €700 so i had a few more vodka red bulls, which was a bad idea because by the time i got home i was

buuuuuuzzzzzzziiiiinnnnnnggggg and spent most of the night with the shakes and staring at the ceiling...class...so i kinda feel hungover today...but its friday and i am excited its friday

im also excited because the kings of concrete festival is on tomorrow and im even more excited that baxter and brian are over next weekend to get pissed and scotty is coming over in august and maybe blinks and then im over in september so overall im excited but im sad im missing jo's leaving do.....im sorry jo jo..we'll party in sydney i promise

ive been in work since 9.00 and i have done...nothing, not a thing...not even an email or taken a phone call....life is good

have a great weekend kids

Let's all paddle

I am at work cold and bored....go figure..I’ve started a job as a PA for a company that’s a 5min walk from the flat and the monies quite good.…I swear if the rain doesn’t stop soon I’m taking my paddles out and paddling Ireland closer to the equator…Do you think if we all paddled together it could actually happen?.

How excited are you about the new Simpson’s movie? I for one am VERY excited ;)

Three albums I recommend you ALL buy

Interpol- Our Love to Admire
Queens of the Stone Age- Era Vulgrais
John Butler Trio- The Grand National

my weekend at home consisted of drinking, drinking and more drinking....with no hangover which made a refreshing change...I also came home via an old go kart I found in the street…I was very drunk wandering the streets of Athlone at around 3.40am and decided it would be the best mode of transport home…Jay walked by a few minutes later looking bewildered as I attempted to pedal my way to my bed….it was one of my stranger means of transport

I had my medical on Friday which went ok.....not only have I lost 9lbs since moving back to Dublin…WOOO but everything seems to be in working order, except for some blood condition I didn’t know about but that’s neither here nor there.......for now anyway

The john butler trio album is fantastic...there’s even a song on it called Caroline...how many song titles or songs have my name in it? I must Google and find out.

I’m just sending cosmic thoughts out into the big bad world of cyberspace....does anybody read this thing? If so just add a comment…otherwise I’ll just start emailing everyone and wrecking their heads with EPIC sized emails about nothing

where am I

well at the moment I'm temping in Milltown which is about 10mins from the city centre on the luas..although it feels like the middle of nowhere cause theres is no SHOPS for miles and by miles I mean my walking route from the luas to the office...

so i should be hearing back from the 2nd interview i went to yesterday today, if not i have another interview on tuesday and this place im working now, Anthony Reddy Associates who build and own half of ireland they have so many fingers in all the pies REALLY REALLY want me here, but i have a sneaky feeling they will laugh in my face when I tell them how much I want to be paid, seriously is €500,000 a year really too much to ask?

great thing about working here is that i can wear jeans everyday, wear all my piercings and tattoos and i listen to music all day, and theres some dishy boys here, bad side, well it's in the middle of nowhere, long hrs and currently i am bored shitless hence the blogging...but if they offered me a job..who knows...I have a meeting in an hr to discuss!

so with that in mind, i better at LEAST pretend to be working although all this typing and concentrating makes it look like I am working, or at least I'm not passed out on my keyboard..yawn...today is thursday right?

it's offically the start of the weekend for me...mwuahahaha suckers!

smell ye later, i'm off to get off my chops!

sometimes you need more time

sometimes when im nervous or scared i ramble..for that i am sorry...i dont mean to dwell on things but sometimes you need to dwell and think and come up with all the scenarios and understand what might happen and sometimes i get lost in a bottle or 6 of wine..for that i am sorry.

we've all been to the point where we deal with things as much as we can and then we need a crutch..sorry ive been an invalid for so long..im working on it, so bare with me..ok?

Sometimes I wish I was a camel

So then when I decide to drink the guts of 6 bottles of red, white and organic wine I would dehydrate and wake at 5am with a stinking hangover and still drunk..I'd have been kept nice and watered during the night and would have gotten some decent sleep

The idea of the drinking of wine on a Sunday came when I didnt make Tasha's 23rd birthday on Friday. And then I had to cancel drinks with John and Dave on Saturday and drinks with Mary later on Saturday, so I owed it to myself and to society to have a drink yesterday and catch up on girl catch with Tasha..oh how I loved it and regret it at the same time...like kissing an ex boyfriend or someone you know is an asshole

So here I sit in my pj's on what I keep thinking is a Tuesday when infact it's a Monday..I had another recruitment thing this morning and of course being who I am and how I read maps I had no idea where it was so I got a cab part of the way there..and then I looked in my bag and I realised I didnt have the full address, just the street..that had 200 offices/buildings whatever..luckily I got luckily..the woman at the interview kept yawning and talking at the same time, while I nodded and tried not to puke on the job spec.

On the way back, I wanted to punish myself for all the drinking so I decided to walk, however walking in anything with a raised heel = pain, and fuck me, i got lost..again....2 hrs later (should have taken me 30mins door to door) I crawled in my door, felt sorry for myself, made lunch and finished off season 4 of sex in the city..hence my wanting to write a blog..not that I know if anyone readds this but I dont give a continental donkey...so I just punished myself and made myself clean up the mess for yesterday and I nearly broke my arse again..I washed the slippery wooden floors and towel dried them with teatowels= iceskating in the middle of June in Dublin

Dont try it at home kids....I need something fizzy to drink or I might die

To stay in or not to stay in...thats a question but ive no money so i dont really have an option

So it's the 2nd Saturday night in a row that I've stayed in in over a year..its true...I know I know..I can't believe it either but when you don't have a job, or have any income other than your parents after having 4 years of complete independance, I really can't ask my parents for any money for going out drinking.....rent is one thing, but asking my parents to fund for my social life, well I'm not a student anymore, so I have to be a responsible adult and hangon wait, lets pretend I didn't say responsible or adult

Anyway...I'm now back in the metropolis of Dublin, I swore I'd never come back after living here for two years as a poor student, but I am

The great plan is to stay just for a year before Nici and I go on a big adventure and travel the seven seas, well ok we plan on flying so flying over a couple of seas and maybe an ocean or three..so maybe its a good thing I'm staying in...get in pratice for the year to come..

Like a ninja training for a fight against Chuck Norris, I am in training to learn how to save and ration my daily allowance like I'll have to do when I travel for 6 months with no income..jesus must apply for a few credit cards for emergencies of course

I've been back in Ireland two weeks tomorrow, can't believe I've left London and my amazing family of friends over there. That's the great thing about being single in London, it's a real eye opener to new people and lifestyles and situations. As hard as the breakup with Tomas was, if it never happened I'd never have had the life I had in London and met people who I consider to be the greatest friends I've ever met...along with my homies back in Ireland.

So Dublin has become this HUGE metropolitan city, it's like I blinked and missed the re-birth of Dublin..it's all chique and new and mostly clean. But fuck me has it become expensive

A vodka coke and a pint cost TWELVE EURO, I nearly had cardiac arrest right there and then.. I think it's back to the day of bringing naggins of vodka in my socks..so if you suddendly see me wearing huge socks on a night out under my jeans..now you know

So I'm living off Thomas Street, which is old school Dublin. It's in the Libertines area where Christian Noble, one of my heros grew up, although she grew up in a broken home and in poverty so it's quite a different setting...but it still has the women selling goods out of their old kids prams, shouting "Lighteerrs two fer a euro, get yer lighteers".

The only complaint I have about this area..well theres two I'll be brief

1- The paths...when wet are OUTRAGIOUSLY slippery..I nearly broke my hole twice in one day trying to walk as quick as I could (running late) and my flip flops had no grips...walking on the pavements when wet, it's basically like trying to walk on ice when wearing plastic bags on your feet

2- the guiness factory..don't get me wrong..it's great...it's dublin, it's iconic..but when they are brewing..holy shit...it smells like burnt black bean sauce all day long..you can even smell it down Dame Street

Anyway this is my first blog since moving to dublin, infact it's my first blog ever...not sure if anyone will ever read it but thats ok..it's for me...wish I had done this a long time ago when I moved to London...maybe someday I'll write my memories
